Growth Hormone

Growth hormone research examines the hypothalamic-pituitary growth hormone axis and its influence on growth, metabolism, tissue repair and insulin-like growth factor signalling.

Growth hormone secretion is naturally regulated through several interacting signals. Growth hormone-releasing hormone stimulates pituitary GH secretion, while somatostatin acts as an inhibitory signal. Ghrelin receptors and related pathways can also influence pulsatile GH release.
