How to read a certificate

Method before number

A purity figure is only meaningful alongside the method, the laboratory and the date.

Identity

Confirms the material is the compound named on the label, by a stated identity method.

Purity

Reports the proportion of the named compound, by a stated separation method.

Traceability

Ties the result to the lot number physically printed on the vial.
